Regional Climate and Vegetative Cover

Climate

Burdur and surrounding area is a passage between Mediterranean and Central Anatolia regions, thus climates of both regions are dominant in the area. Therefore, summers are hot and dry whereas winters are cold and rainy. Temperature is not consistent and varies in the range of -21ᴼ and +36ᴼ throughout the year. Snow precipitation is possible in winter. Average annual precipitation amount is approximately 520 mm


Vegetative Cover

There is a strong correlation between vegetative cover and climate. Generally characterized by typical pastures of Mediterranean vegetative cover. Endemic plants are common in pastures.

20% of Tefenni Town is classified as non-cultural quality. Approximately 40% of the land is forests, 30% is agricultural and 10% is pastures and grass. Fauna is constituted of wild animals such as roe-deer, wildcat, rabbit, badger, wolf, fox, jackal and boar.
